With a wealth of experience in research administration, leading research resource facilities and facilitating technology transfer, Aldona is often recognized for her unique ability to implement operating plans, facilitate change and build long lasting businesses arising from academic technologies. As a seasoned, versatile finance and operations executive and a certified public accountant, she provides expertise in areas such as: strategic business planning, budgeting and valuation, operations design and start-up, management, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and process reengineering.
Aldona's career began with a Big 4 public accounting firm with audit and consulting engagements, but quickly evolved through internal auditing to focus on academic finance and administration, sponsored research, technology transfer, compliance and process improvements at Case Western Reserve University. As Director of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation's Office of Sponsored Research, she administered over $125 million in sponsored research contracts, grants and clinical trials. More recently, Aldona served as Vice President for Science and Cancer Center Support Grant Administration at Roswell Park Cancer Institute where she played a leadership role in supporting the operational strategies and scientific research mission of the team.
Aldona earned a BFA and an MBA (Quantitative Analysis and Accounting) from the University of Cincinnati. In addition, she holds a Masters of Science (Operations Research) and a Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University. Experienced with successful National Institutes of Health applications, Aldona has lectured on grant funding, regulatory issues/compliance and co-authored a publication on institutional technology transfer in the United States.
