With over 19 years in the Life Sciences industry, Eric possesses detailed knowledge of process sciences, intellectual property, licensing, manufacturing operations and strategic business development necessary to commercialize innovative discoveries.

His career spans various business and technical leadership roles at Invitrogen Corporation including Director of Corporate Development for both GIBCO and BioReliance business units as well as Business Director of Cell Culture Research. Prior to Invitrogen, he participated in advanced process sciences research & development at Genentech and Centocor. Fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese, Eric has traveled extensively abroad and worked as a key business unit manager in Latin America. During this time, he developed a unique perspective of offshore business customs and a strong network of contacts to affect business deals in these markets.

Eric earned a dual Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts in Chemistry and Economics and holds a Masters of Science degree in Biophysical Chemistry from the University of Denver. He also has completed advanced executive management coursework at Penn State University.

Closer to home, Eric is a member of Niagara University’s Business Advisory Board with special focus on Life Science commercialization. More recently, he was appointed to the newly created Industrial Advisory Board at the University at Buffalo Center for Advanced Biomedical and Bioengineering Technology (UB CAT). Frequently called upon to present at regional technology forums, he often collaborates with state and local economic development organizations to evaluate investment opportunities.
